Hyper-V

Hyper-V, codenamed Viridian, is a Microsoft software to create Virtual Machines (VMs) on Windows systems. Lansweeper scans both the Hyper-V host and guest machines. When you scan a Hyper-V host, the machine will be scanned similar to any other Windows machine. Guests are scanned as Windows, Linux or Mac computers and get as much information as you are used to from the respective asset types. The host machine will also list all of the guest machines so you can easily navigate between hosts and guest assets or vice-versa.

Scanned Hyper-V Information

Lansweeper will retrieve detailed information from Hyper-V servers, such as:
  • Installed guest machines
  • Network: virtual adapters
  • Installed antivirus
  • Manufacturer and model
  • Memory, Processor, Motherboard
  • Disks and remaining space
  • Active Directory OU

Guest Machines

Guest machines are shown as a separate category below the general details of the Hyper-V asset page. Here, you can click through to the asset pages of individual guest computers. These return as much information as any other Windows computer, but also show the host server so you can click through from one asset to the other. On the host server page, you will see the following information per guest Windows system:
  • Online status
  • Name
  • Status
  • Memory
  • Domain

Network Interfaces

The server’s asset page lists network interfaces at the bottom of the page. Here, you find a table of ports along with additional information, such as the connection speed and MTU (maximum transmission unit).
