MPC Computers was a computer hardware developer that designed, developed, manufactured, and distributed desktops, notebooks, servers, and other services. The company was founded in 1995 in Idaho, the USA as Micron Electronics, Inc. and spun off from a semiconductor manufacturer, Micron Technology. Until 2001, the company sold business and consumer computers under the name Micron, MicronPC, and MicronPC.com.
The company’s products and services were mainly developed for clients in market sectors including education, local and state government, medium-sized businesses and consumer markets. However, in 2008 the company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and went defunct on December 31st, 2008.
