PLX Technology was an integrated circuits manufacturer that specialized in the design and development of storage and other solutions based on PCI Express and Ethernet technologies. The company was founded in 1986 by Mike Salameh with their headquarters located in Sunnyvale, California U.S.
Over the years, since their inception, the company quickly gained a sizeable market share and their shares went up by more than 400%. After making several acquisitions and opening an office in Austin, Texas, the company shipped its one-millionth network attached storage (NAS) device in 2010. However, on August 12, 2014, PLX Technology was acquired by Broadcom, Inc.
