TL;DR Go straight to the Windows 11 End-of-Life Audit

On October 8, 2024, Windows 11 Home and Pro version 22H2, Windows 11 Enterprise and Education version 21H2, and Windows 11 IoT Enterprise version 21H2 will go end of life. For Enterprise and Education and IoT Enterprise this is the first version to go end of support. Any devices running these versions won’t receive any more security updates, patches, or technical support from Microsoft. Make sure to update any devices running Windows 11 within your organization.

Windows 11 Lifecycle

Like with all Windows products before it, there are several versions and editions of Windows 11. This can make it difficult to keep track of which products are going out of support at a given end-of-support date. For Windows 11 there is the Home and Pro edition, the Enterprise and Education edition, and the IoT Enterprise edition.

Windows 11 follows Microsoft’s Modern Lifecycle policy. This means that it receives continuous service and support as long as you stay current on the system requirements and have a valid license. New versions of Windows 11 are released once per year. The Home and Pro editions have a servicing timeline of 24 months, and the Enterprise and Education and IoT Enterprise editions 36 months. They also receive monthly quality updates that include security and non-security updates.

Run the Windows 11 End-of-Life Audit

To help you identify devices that will go end-of-life, we have put together a Windows 11 EOL audit report. It shows you which machines are out of support and how long your other machines still have before they go end of life. It gives you a complete list of all Windows 11 devices, their EOL date, and how many days there are remaining until the end of support.
