Nominee: Team LGIT
Organization: La Macchia Group
Location: USA

What impact has Team LGIT demonstrated professionally and/or in the community to support this candidacy?

From the beginning of the pandemic in mid-March 2020 until May 2021, La Macchia Group’s IT specialists – known as Team LGIT – kept the company running on work-from-home status with ZERO downtime. Matt Huffman, the company’s Information Technology Manager, explains how.

“When our company started working remotely, all users took their devices and additional peripherals home. They received additional training and support on-demand, LGIT even reached out and assisted them with home networking challenges and upgrades. When the office converted to optional part-time, LGIT introduced thermal scanners and assisted HR with daily contact tracing logs.”

The team also helped to clean the printers and common items in conference rooms every day and updated several offices and conference rooms to prepare for the return of the whole company to the office. “On top of that,” Matt adds, “in November 2020 LGIT completed its fourth straight SOC 2 security audit – in the middle of a pandemic!”

How has Lansweeper helped in making that impact?

The list is long. “Lansweeper helps us monitor user equipment from afar,” Matt begins. “Weekly ‘blue-screen-of-death’ and new software-install reports keep us abreast of potential user issues. Also, Lansweeper helps LGIT maintain SOC 2 security compliance in a variety of ways.”

For example, the team collaborates with the Lansweeper community to build and maintain reports. “A year ago, with our previous asset system, we realized we weren’t able to monitor assets outside the building. So, we started using Lansweeper. It enabled us to track loaned-out equipment, which also assists with SOC 2 compliance. LsAgent resolved that!“

He’s referring to the lightweight, cross-platform scanning agent introduced in Lansweeper 7.0. “It automatically gathers asset data locally and sends it back to your Lansweeper installation, either via a direct push or through Lansweeper’s cloud-hosted relay service,” Matt says.

“Lansweeper helps us monitor user equipment from afar.”

What was the team’s biggest challenge so far in 2021?

“Figuring out the next steps forward for our environment,” answers Matt. “We want to utilize the cloud more, but our company functions better as a whole when staff is on site. It’s due to the collaborative nature of our niche industry and products.”
