Microsoft released the November 2018 monthly patch, which means a boatload of security updates are out for Microsoft products. This month’s Patch Tuesday comes with fixes for 62 vulnerabilities, 13 of which are rated critical.
The focus of November’s Patch Tuesday lies with Windows OS updates and Edge. Internet Explorer has several Important vulnerabilities resolved as does Office, but all of the Critical vulnerabilities, exploits and disclosures are in the OS and Edge browser.
Among the 62 bugs are eight for the Chakra scripting engine in the Edge browser. Each of these vulnerabilities are Remote Code Execution flaws that, if exploited, would allow the attacker to run malware, and perform actions on the infiltrated machine with the permission level of the logged-in user. Microsoft also released non-security updates for Office 2010, Office 2013, and Office 2016.
We’ve created a report which checks if the assets in your network are on the latest Microsoft rollup update.
