On the 21st of August, Microsoft released Edge 116 for Windows, Linux, and Mac. In this release, Microsoft has updated a number of features and policies. The new feature updates include:

  • Microsoft Edge for Business includes native enterprise-grade security, productivity, manageability, and AI. It also offers the ability to create separation between work and personal browsing with automatic switching between. All users signing in with their Entra ID  will automatically receive Edge for Business and see an updated Edge icon with a briefcase to designate they’re in the work browser window.   • The option to attach the Edge sidebar to the Windows desktop. This way you can easily access your apps and sites directly from your Windows 10 desktop. You can attach the sidebar to your Windows desktop by clicking a «popout» icon near the base of the sidebar in the browser. This enables a side-by-side experience that works with any Windows app — including Microsoft Edge itself. Administrators can control the availability of this feature.

The Edge 116 release also includes the latest security updates of the Chromium project. There are also 2 Microsoft Edge-specific updates in response to CVE-2023-38158 and CVE-2023-36787.
