Mozilla’s new version for Firefox and Firefox ESR has been released with additional functionality and security releases. In Firefox 93, the new AVIF image format is supported. Firefox PDF viewer now supports filling more forms (XFA-based forms). A new memory management feature is added that when the available system memory is critically low, will cause Firefox on Windows to automatically unload tabs based on their last access time, memory usage, and other attributes. For added security, Firefox now blocks downloads that rely on insecure connections and SmartBlock is now on version 3.0. New referrer tracking protection in Strict Tracking Protection and Private Browsing has been added and Firefox Suggest is now live. Lastly, 7 security-related issues were fixed, four of which are rated as high impact.
