Mozilla’s new version for Firefox and Firefox ESR has been released with additional functionality and security releases. In Firefox 96, improvements to noise-suppression, auto-gain-control and echo-cancellation were added. The main thread load has also been reduced along with a new cookie policy “Same-Site=lax” which will not be enforced to defend against Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF). Additionally, various fixes were also implemented in the latest stable release of Firefox.
Firefox 96 fixes 18 vulnerabilities, 9 of which are high impact. Firefox ESR 91.5 adds 14 fixes for vulnerabilities including 9 of high impact.
